Last night my little sister (5th grade) was making an e-mail account
She saw gender and went to click female when she noticed the “other” choice
She looked at me confused and I started to explain that some people don’t think they fit in with strictly male or female
"Oh! You mean like transgender and stuff like that. I was freaked out for a second- I thought they meant robots."
Yet another example the kids are more open-minded than adults
Cannot be stressed enough.
I am not an artist by any stretch of the term. My stick figures look like they need serious chiropractic help. However I do think this message needs to be out there.
In the words of The Hound “Fair wages for fair work.” (ignore what he did after that)
"i don’t believe in nonbinary genders" damn i wasn’t aware my gender was a fucking religion, but in that case i demand to be worshiped as a god
That’s the great thing about facts. They are still accurate even if you don’t believe them.
#probably the best explanation of a device in the tv history
This is literally my fourth or fifth time reblogging this.
It’s still hillarious.
One of my favorite lines
I kinda feel like the writers wrote this line specifically to drive the kind of fans who want to figure out how sci-fi tech would theoretically work crazy. They’re like “nope! We’re not going to give you any techno babble to tear apart or investigate or mull over to tell us how we’re doing it wrong, or how it compares in effectiveness to similar tech in other franchises.”
I also feel like this is one of those times when the TARDIS’s translation circuit just gave the fuck up. Like the ‘physics physics physics’ scene, where he is imparting secrets of the universe and the TARDIS is like THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR THIS IN ENGLISH DAMN IT DOCTOR OH HELL FUCK IT.
OH MY GODS she TOTALLY edits his speech. I be he actually swears a fuckton but the TARDIS is like THERE ARE CHILDREN
confuseddude01 said: Please forgive me for my ignorance, but what is the deal with the "not all men" thing? I really, really don't get it. I fight day in and out for social justice issues trying to educate people, and I'm fully aware of how terrible most men are. Why, then, is it a terrible thing to not want to be associated with the majority of my shitty peers just because I won the privilege lottery alongside them? I'd rather not be considered an enemy to those who I defend just b/c others in my position abuse it.
congratulations, you’ve made the abuse of other people about you
Here’s an idea. How about just… Don’t be that guy? Doing good things is good. Doing good things and then demanding or thinking you deserve some sort of credit or acknowledgement for them tends to just make you look like you’re only doing it for attention rather than out of altruism or any real belief in the cause.
Does it piss me off that “MRA” morons are actually a thing? Yes. Do I think their actions reflect on me? No. Why? Simple, I’m not them.
Aside from all that if your friends judge you based on the actions of others then THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS. If you care about what the faceless masses on the internet think about “you” because they have a (rightfully) negative opinion about “MRA’s” then that’s a you problem. Easily solved by mentally removing yourself from that group. If you’re unable to do this, you may want to take a closer look at yourself. It may be that you actually agree with their opinions in some way and thus the points folks bring up against “MRA” hit a little to close to home.
Just my $0.02
If you consider yourself an MRA, please unfollow me now.
If you think the “friendzone” is a legitimate thing, please unfollow me now.
If you think that that murderer’s actions are in any way validated by what the women around him did or didn’t do, please unfollow me now.
If you can look at what happened and honestly tell yourself you agree with the same things he agreed with, I want nothing to do with you. Please unfollow me.
Also here’s an interesting article on the “MRA”, yes I know acronyms don’t need quote, yes I’m doing it as a deliberate attempt to belittle the concept, no I don’t care if this hurts your feelings.
